Workforce Development
Community technology programs can help low-income youth and adults gain the digital literacy they need to secure higher-paying jobs. As our dependence on technology grows, so does the need for a technologically competent workforce.
Community technology can prepare people for the workforce of the future by offering training in and access to high-speed Internet, word processing, database and data analysis programs, design and video production tools and other advanced technologies.
Despite these clear benefits, current government funding procedures and guidelines often make it difficult for community-based organizations to access the funds necessary to sustain these valuable community services.
To assist community technology programs secure the funding, resources and support they need, CCTPG advocates for workforce development policies.
